We all need something to look forward to, especially this year, and exploring Skegness caravan holidays could be just the thing to brighten up 2021 and the years to come.
Whilst some of the obvious attractions, like our fantastic rides, great eateries and seven-day market might be subject to occasional restrictions, the wonderful countryside is still very much open. Fantasy Island is near some of the loveliest nature spots in the country, so we thought we’d tell you about some of our favourite wildlife as well as tips on how best to see them.
What you could see
Lincolnshire has several iconic species. You may catch the wonderful sound of the nightingale, or spot signs of a dormouse near Lincolnshire Lime Woods. The county has one of the largest populations of Barn Owls in the country, so keep your eyes on the sky, especially around dawn and dusk when they’re out hunting. You may be lucky enough to spot some rare species too, like the Bittern, which was near extinction in the last century but is becoming more common thanks to an extensive reed bed protection program.
There are lots of buzzards to be seen, circling way up high, and if you’re very lucky, you might spot some grey seals along the coast – keep an eye out for their pups too.
Get on your bike
Another fabulous thing about visiting a caravan at Fantasy Island is having so much time to explore. You can take holidays between March and November, so that gives you oodles of opportunity to have your very own famous five style day out. We make it super easy too – you can hire bikes from us, so all you have to do is pack up your picnic, with lashings of lemonade of course, and get peddling.
There are lots of cycle routes from Fantasy Island, so you can head out along the coast or go inland to discover the birds and woodland wildlife that this beautiful part of the country has to offer. Best of all, you know that you can come back to your cosy caravan to rest up ready for another day of fun.
